Come and join us for our Rooted Learning free Nature Play sessions.
We have two options for our free nature play sessions:
Forest School Practical Skills

Family Nature Play
Free Forest School Practical Skills Sessions
Perfect for:
- If you are taking an online Forest School course and want to practice, video, photograph and develop any of your practical skills. Or simply want to network, ask questions or support others in their Forest School journey.
- If you want to have an afternoon outside, connecting with nature and learning new skills.
- If you need a refresher on any practical Forest School skills.
- If you already have a great skillset but need the space and the tools to practice.
Whether you are Forest School trained, currently training or simply want to have an afternoon in nature. This free training is perfect for you. We will focus on using tools safely, learning new knots, fire lighting and fire management. We will look at a range of exciting experiences from furniture and musical instrument making to exploring and learning about the forest. Every session will be slightly different depending on the learners.
Free Family Nature Play
Perfect for:
- Families who want to learn new skills together
- Families wanting to connect with nature
- Families who want to spend some more time outside
These free sessions will be guided by one of the Rooted Learning Forest School Leaders. All parents/carers will be responsible for their own children. You will have an amazing time connecting with nature, learning new practical skills and spending time together as a family. This is limited to a maximum of 4 family members and priority will be given to Newham families.
